Cellar Conversions Nottingham & The East Midlands
Basement and cellar waterproofing is becoming increasingly popular as property prices increase. Waterproofed cellars and basements can be converted into kitchens, bathrooms, wine cellars, living rooms, studies, or even recording studios.
Converting a damp cellar or basement doesn’t have to be an expensive way of increasing living space and can increase the value of a property. You are limited only by your imagination. In commercial premises, common uses for basements include, extra storage / retail space, car parks, bars/nightclubs, and restaurants.
Midland Preservation Ltd are members of the Structural Waterproofing Group, which is part of the PCA. As a result, we are able to offer fully insured guarantees for 10 years on any tanking system that we install.
The most common tanking system employed today is the ventilated membrane system where the walls and floor are covered with a high strength, profile plastic membrane incorporating drainage channels, leading to sump chambers housing a pumping system.
This method is quick and less disruptive than the multi-coat render systems which generally rely on sand blasting the brickwork surface to provide a suitable key to apply the cement-based tanking system.
